I have got a 74' PX-10 LE that I bought from my local bike shop. No Campy stuff, no Rigida rims, does have the Ramper seat, all mixed up shitmano derailers, BUT, the Stronglight cranks are there, so, that's a plus too. I LOVE THIS BIKE ! I have always bought Peugeots, the frames cushion the bumpy roads of Tulsa. I wouldn't sell this bike for any price, well maybe like 1000 bucks.....synarlandscaping@gmail.com

[...] Gitane (along with Peugeot and a few others) responded to the market's call for bicycles, and with plenty of fresh capital in hand, Gitane returned its attention to the racing circuit. Then as now, victories in the Tour make for sales in showrooms; then as now bike shops sold racing bikes to people who would never race and who ended up hanging them in the garage for twenty or thirty years, till they could be bought by the likes of your author here as fixed gear fodder. Assembly of motorcycles continued until stocks at another Peugeot subsidiary - Automoto - were depleted in 1961.
