After racing bikes for the past 15 years and running an eBay bike business in my free time, I have gained a lot of knowledge in all aspects of cycling.
My two favorite cycling publications are Dirt Rag (East Coast MTB mag that I grew up on) and Bike Magazine. Although they are not focused on vintage road bikes, their prose revolves around the freedom, comraderie, and tales that arise from riding a bike. That is the essence of being a Fahrrad fanatic, regardless of tire width or knobiness.
Favorite Bike?
After being a hardcore Specialized guy for the longest time, I just picked up an old school Columbus-tubed Bianchi touring/cyclocross frame. I built it up into a singlespeed ‘cross bike to race, and I LOVE it. Plus I get a ton of compliments on the old-skool non-aero brake levers. Steel is indeed real.
Favorite Website about Bicycles?
Favorite website about bicycles has got to be Sheldon Brown’s site purely for its detail of content. That man’s site is an encyclopedia of vintage bike information.
What’s in your Fridge?
In my fridge? Peanut Butter. Strawberry Jam. Wheat bread. OJ. 1% Milk. LOTS of pasta sauce. Uh, some cheese that expired 2 months ago. Whoops.
