Favorite Website about Bicycles?

I am the editor of ECMTB.com, the East Coast’s online mountain bike magazine. I have been writing about bikes in one form or another for a very long time and although my formal training is in photography my passion lies somewhere between two wheels and the written word.

My cycling experience is extensive – I am first and foremost a mountain biker (17 years of off road riding and I’m still here to tell about it), however I do own a road bike which fills in when the woods are wet. I have raced extensively, most on cross country courses but also downhill, in biker cross and dual slalom, endurance and on the road. I’ve also served in many administrative functions as a cyclist, running bike clubs and mountain bike camps, as athlete’s rep at the provincial level and most recently, heading up ventures into trail advocacy. Oh, and I’ve done my time in a bike shop, too.

Any day on the bike is a good day and when someone invents a handlebar laptop so I can write while I ride I’ll know that I’ve achieved Nirvana. If cleanliness is next to godliness then surely the dirty habit of moutain biking is purely divine.

What’s in your Fridge?

I can’t really tell you what’s in my fridge; I’m afraid that’s top secret information.

Favorite Bike?

Knowing that you must love bicycles too, I can’t believe you’d ask for my favourite type – it’s like asking a parent to choose a favourite child. My brand of choice is Kona (they were good to me during my racing years), but I see beauty in everything from the classic cruisers to the lightest carbon fiber road bike. Any day on the bike is a good day and I believe that goes for all bikes.
